STAPLETON

Stapleton Castle site goes back to Norman times, the ruins visible today are 17th century and were a residence of the Harley family. They are unstable and access is restricted.
Stapleton wood offers a pleasant walk. You can get to Willey hall and the Globe by following the path to the north. Livestock sometimes strays into this wood. Buzzards are a quite common sight here, as are Deer. The wood is mixed and wild flowers are abundant especialy in the spring and summer.
