This motte is 8m high with a summit diameter of 19m. There was a wet moat and
several outer enclosures, the site of one is now occupied by the adjacent Victorian
church, though possibly on the site of an earlier castle chapel. The castle
is known to have been amongst the estates of the Mortimer family of Wigmore.
There are good views over the valley of the River Arrow nearby.
