WHITTON

Most of the church at Whitton is modern after rebuildings in 1867 and 1910. The nave is from the former date and the chancel from the latter. The font, however is 14th century and there are some 17th century panels in the pulpit. Also the stoup is thought to be possibly Norman in origin.

The site of the church, in the upper Lugg valley is peaceful and quiet.
The churchyard contains some interesting headstones and other memorials.
Inside is a nice woodcut of the last supper and a tablet of 1595 to a John Price featuring two female figures.
