Castell Foel Allt is the remains of a small motte of probably 11th-12th century origin. The area was under the control of the Mortimers of Wigmore and it is probable that they were responsible for its construction. It gets mentioned as a residence in documentary evidence in 1342 but was already abandoned at the time of the Battle of Pilleth in 1402. Nowadays it is most notable for it's pleasant position in the upper Lugg valley amidst farmland.
